Transportation in Linköping

Linköping has a very good public transportation system. You can buy your ticket in various different shops and in the so called Quickomats and of course in the bus terminal office at Resecentrum. Please note that you can not buy you ticket on the bus, since they no longer accept cash after the buses have been robbed repeatedly and they want to protect the safety of the bus drivers.

You will be able to recognise the busses by their enamel in bright orange and red colours, supposed to make people smile.

Of course you can also get around by taxi and some of the companies that offer this service are Taxi Kurir (013 15 00 00), Taxibil I Östergötland AB (013 -14 60 00 / -10 10 00) and Linköping Taxibolaget (013 30 30 30).

Linköping is by some people called the bicycle-town. This is manly because the city offers a good range of bicycle paths as a result of the town being the home of many pour students, thanks to the university. If you would like to rent a bike for a day or so there are a few companies that will rent you a bike. The most easy on to get to and that is located some close to the city is the store Sportson. You will find Sportson on Roxviksgatan 6 in Tornby.

If you would like to rent a car when you are in Linköping there are various different options. For example there are cars to let in most patrol stations in Linköping. You can also find yourself a car at Sixt Rent a Car (http://se.sixt.com) or at Hertz (www.hertz.se).
